WHAT IS PROJECT CANDY?

Project Candy is a first-person shooter game where everything is candy. Players will be tasked with a simple objective, survive. Be ready to take out an onslaught of different types of enemies. Use different weapons such as the shotgum, Yolo, and more. Take advantage of the weaponry and different skills such as slowing time down. It might sound easy to survive, but you must constantly eat your enemies to keep the timer going.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leader of The Bois

  • Level Designer, crafted the world of the game from my own imagine. 

  • Artist, work on a poster for the game, the loading screen, banner, the itch.io page, icons, and more.

  • Programming with blueprints. Eating Candy, Switching Weapons, Spawning Enemies, Grapple Hook, Dash, and More.

  • Lead a playtest sessions for the game to collect feedback.

  • Lead of the The Bois's Twitter. 

What did I do?

Starting in September 2022, our team began the development of this game called "Project Candy," using the power of the Unreal Engine. Drawing inspiration from Call of Duty Zombies, I took on the role of designing a level layout that would provide players with a simple yet enjoyable experience. Using BSP and pre-made assets, I meticulously crafted the map to bring it to life. Simultaneously, I played a vital role as an artist, lending my creative touch to various design aspects, including the logo, banner, and background. In addition to my artistic contributions, I took charge of programming key game features, such as the health bar, UI interactions, and an exciting grapple hook mechanic, employing visual blueprints. As the project evolved, I naturally assumed the position of team leader, guiding and overseeing our collective efforts to bring the game to completion.
